Uniform

We want our children to be smart in their uniform and to wear it with pride. This means we need your support as parents and carers in ensuring that the children come to school dressed correctly.

Our school uniform consists of:

·Blue jumper or cardigan

·White polo shirt

·Grey school shorts/trousers/skirt/pinafore

·Black school shoes

·Grey, black or white socks

·Blue gingham dress (optional in summer)

Our PE kit consists of a plain white t-shirt and black shorts with trainers. Classes might go outside for P.E. at any time of the year. Therefore, children should always bring their usual indoor P.E. kit and suitable plain dark outer clothes e.g. jogging bottoms and top for winter use.

Sweatshirts and cardigans, with the school logo, can be purchased from Davensports or Monkhouses. In addition, pre-loved uniform is available at regular intervals during the school year – more information can be obtained via the school office.

Other notes:

·         All clothing and footwear should be clearly marked with your child's name to enable lost items to be returned.

·         Pupils may not wear any jewellery except for one small watch only (no sound effects or games).

·         For health and safety reasons, only small studs are allowed as earrings. All studs must be removed for PE. If you wish your child to have their ears pierced, we would encourage this to happen at the beginning of the summer holidays.

·         We request sensible haircuts and long hair should be tied back. Extreme styles and hair colouring are not appropriate for school.

·         Nail varnish and make-up should not be worn to school.

·         Hair accessories should be minimal (no large bows/hair accessories), be school colours and tied back during PE.

We ask that parents inform the school if their child is unable to wear any item of uniform for any reason at any time. If children are not following the policy, staff will speak to parents to ascertain the reason and remind them of the expectations. In cases where it is suspected that financial hardship has resulted in a pupil not complying with this uniform policy, staff will take a mindful and considerate approach to resolving the situation.
