Hello Year 5, 

I hope you are all staying well and you are continuing to enjoy your learning from home.  I am continuing to leave work on seesaw daily for complete and I've even read story for you to listen to, so keep checking.  Stay safe everyone and look forward to seeing you all soon.

Remember to continue to learn your times tables - you need to know all facts to 12 x 12 and the related division facts.  Maths continues to be set daily on seesaw.  Work is also updated weekly on prodigy.

Maths:

Fractions, decimals and percentages

English:

We are looking at the book 'There's a Rang Tan in my bedroom'.  From this the children will be writing persuasive texts

RE:  Reconciliation

  • Understand that actions have consequences.  Reflect on some of the consequences of actions
  • Understand why Jesus blessed the poor in spirit.  Reflect on what we can learn from Fr. Arrupe
  • Know about God’s love and forgiveness.  Reflect on what this means for us.
  • Understand the meaning of sin.  Reflect on how sin hurts us, others and our relationship with God. 
  • Know what happens in the sacrament of Reconciliation.  Reflect on how the sacrament helps us.

  • Make the stations of the cross.  Reflect on the Passion and Death of Jesus

PE

Year 5 PE is timetabled on:  Thursday

Please ensure your child's PE kit is in school on the above day.

PE kit is white t-shirt, black shorts and pumps / trainers.  During the winter, children may wear black or blue jogging bottoms.
