This half term we are learning:

Maths: Statistics, fractions and revision of addition and subtraction.

English: Meerkat Mail -  we are looking at sentence structure, presentation of work including handwriting, suffixes and the vocabulary we can use to make our writing exciting!

RE: Eastertide

Other Subjects:

History -  Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and  how they have contributed to national and international changes in hospitals.

Geography -  Key physical and human features.

Art- Continue to develop our drawing skills using different patterns an shapes.

PSHE - During circle time this half term will look at how we play at playtime and how we deal with any conflict using the Restorative Approach.

Science-  Our focus this half term will be seasonal changes and measuring temperatures and tracking what time it goes dark and light.




Year 2 PE is timetabled on Wednesday.

Please ensure your child's PE kit is in school on Wednesdays.

PE kit is white t-shirt, black shorts and pumps / trainers.  During the winter, children may wear black or blue jogging bottoms.

Our homework for this half term is:

Homework is given out on a Friday. Children will be given Maths or English, which is an extension of what we have been learning in class.

Spellings are written on a Friday and checked on a Wednesday. Please make sure your child's homework and spelling books are in school on a Friday.

The children should continue to practice learning their 2, 5 and 10 times tables. 




The children had so much fun taking part in our World Book day this year! We read stories and enjoyed hot chocolates and biscuits, listened to stories read by year 6 children and had fun contributing to our whole school story.

Thank you parents/carers for providing the children with excellent costumes.
